The success in the market of EGO cast-iron hotplates started in the early 1950s. Since then, their technology has been continuously refined and optimised. Numerous patents document this progress.
An extremely stable cast-iron body with face-turned surface forms the core. High-speed hotplates have a built-in overheat limiter (protector). The models of the current standard range are divided according to size, wattage and type of control. Suitable control elements such as seven-position switches, energy regulators, capillary tube regulators are added to the hotplates to provide a fully functional system.
Size and performance
Most cookers have two 145 mm diameter hotplates and two 180 mm hotplates. In some markets, one 220 mm hotplate is preferred over 180 mm. Our product range also includes special models with 80 and 115 mm diameter. What is important is that the hotplate and its surroundings are protected against impermissibly high temperatures by a built-in protector (overheat protection).
Plug-in connection
E.G.O. offers all hotplate models with plug-in connection as well. The previous screw terminals are replaced by flat-pin plugs. This type of connection complies with currently valid regulations and satisfies today´s requirements for state-of-the-art connection technology, allowing installation costs to be cut and faults to be reduced.
